Adult social care to launch new system
Adult social care in Dudley is introducing new digital technologies, thanks to the biggest and most significant change to Dudley social care services in a decade.
Dudley Council has invested in new information technology to improve how we work in delivering adult social care.
Changes to better processes, the latest technology, more training and development for staff and better performance management tools will allow us to be more efficient.
The adult social care team remain committed to delivering social care that enables adults to live independent and fulfilled lives
The council is asking service users and carers to refrain from making any non-urgent requests for adult social care between Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 9 September while it works to move across to the new system.
People who need urgent help and support will still be able to contact the adult access team throughout the work by calling 0300 555 0055.
Councillor Nicolas Barlow, cabinet member for health and adult social care, said:
Dudley Council cares deeply for the wellbeing of all those who require adult social care and investing in this new system will enable us to improve how we can support residents at a time when they need us the most.
The digital technology will enable our staff to work more closely with partners, providers and residents anywhere they need to across the borough to ensure an efficient and joined up way of working.
I would like to thank our service users in advance for their patience as we work to take these updates and we are stressing that anyone with urgent needs should still get in touch during the week that we are undertaking the work.
