Baga Chipz on her way to Dudley Pride
Baga Chipz MBE and star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is heading to Dudley this weekend.
The West Midland’s Queen is headlining Dudley’s Pride event with live vocals, comedy and dazzling costumes. This is her second visit to the borough after a storming performance at Stourbridge Town Hall last year. The singer, comedian, actress and all-round glamour girl will be performing a family friendly set at the event this Saturday (20 July).
Stone Street Square will host a stage and marquee from 1 to 8pm with a line-up of entertainment throughout the afternoon including Xfactor finalist Georgia Burgess and Birmingham’s Rainbow Voices Choir, Word of Mouth DJ Stuart Ojelay, drag Queen Trixie Lee and more.
Black Country DJ Dennis Cohoone from Smethwick has been added to the Dudley Pride lineup after winning a competition earlier this month. Going by the name of Mr Denco, the 51-year-old has played in clubs, bars and pubs across Birmingham and the Black Country for the last 26 years and has been chosen to play at the Dudley Council led pride event.
Councillor Hilary Bills, Mayor of Dudley, said:
“Pride is such a wonderful event, celebrating love in all its forms.
“I’m so excited by the line-up, there’ll be music, songs and lots of laughter. I can’t wait to meet our performers and hope that this event allows people to feel represented and seen. This is a celebration!”
Dudley Pride will have road closures in place for Tower Street and Stone Street from the junction with Priory Street and up to the junction at Union Street.
