Residents are reminded to put their black wheelie bins, black box and blue and green recycling bags out as normal for collections from 6am onwards.
The booking system will continue to operate as usual for the Household Waste Recycling Centre. The site will have normal opening hours apart from 25 and 26 December and 1 January, when it will be closed. Pop ups tips will run at Northway on 14 December and Lister Road on 11 January.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for highways and environmental services, said:
“The crews will be out working over the Christmas period and we’re asking people to make sure they check any changes to their collection day in advance of the holidays.
“This is a time of year where many households will have more waste than usual. Luckily many things such as glass bottles, biscuit tins, cardboard boxes, mince pie cases, most Christmas cards and non-foil wrapping paper can all be recycled as the council collects glass, metal, paper, card and plastics as part of its fortnightly recycling collection.”
