Christmas events to move online
Dudley’s Christmas light switch-on events are moving online this year as the borough comes together for one big switch-on.
Dudley Council, in partnership with Halesowen BID, will be bringing an evening of festive cheer, straight to residents in the comfort of their own homes on Saturday November 21.
The programme will include a Christmas cocktail master class, music performances and a cookery lesson from the BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals 2019 winner, Stuart Deeley.
Starting at 4.30pm the Christmas special will be hosted by Black Country Radio who will hand over to the Mayor of Dudley to officially switch on the borough’s Christmas lights at 5pm.
The show will be broadcast on the Dudley Council YouTube channel.
Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, said:
I am delighted that we will still be able to come together to celebrate the start of Christmas by having one big virtual switch-on event for the whole of the borough.
Although we will be in the comfort of our own homes, I hope people will get into the spirit of the evening by wearing their Christmas jumpers and joining in with the countdown.
