Coronation party packs delivered to borough residents
Coronation party packs have been delivered to Dudley borough residents who are hosting street parties as the countdown begins to the crowning of King Charles III.
There are 24 street parties during the coronation weekend, with events taking place in every corner of the borough on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
Dudley Council has sent party bags with bunting, flags, paper cups and other essentials to residents hosting events as the borough gets ready to mark the country’s first coronation ceremony in more than 70 years.
Street parties will be taking place across the UK as part of the Coronation Big Lunch, which aims to bring neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun.
Kevin O’Keefe, chief executive of Dudley Council, said:
We’re delighted to be supporting our residents who have organised street parties to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. I hope our party packs will add some extra colour to their events.
The coronation will be a time for communities across the borough to come together and street parties are an ideal opportunity for neighbours to socialise and get to know each other.
A full list of road closures for street parties during the coronation weekend can be found on the council’s traffic page.
Residents who are hosting or attending street parties are encouraged to send pictures of themselves celebrating the coronation to capa.events@dudley.gov.uk for inclusion in the council’s online photo gallery.
