Council on track to balance the books
Dudley Council is set to make progress on balancing the books by the end of the financial year, new figures have revealed.
In the latest figures up to the end of October, councillors will be told that the authority is now forecasting an underspend of £5.9 million in the current year.
The report is set to go before cabinet on December 18.
Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for finance, said:
“I am very pleased that the hard work done across the council to face up to the current financial position is producing results.
“There is much work still to do but this is an excellent step forward towards establishing more robust finances.
“We look forward to further progress on the recovery journey in the months ahead.”
