Council renews security certificate

Online experts at Dudley Council have been given the thumbs up for measures taken to ensure the authority’s internet content and shared services are safer.

Dudley Council has recently been awarded a certificate for its use of Public Services Network (PSN), which takes a walled garden approach to controlling online interaction.

The PSN compliance is a way to report and manage security arrangements, looking at how an organisation demonstrates policy and control to be sufficiently rigorous.

Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for finance, legal and procurement, said:

PSN allows us to have confidence that services we use over the network will work without problems and the assurance that data is protected.
We are pleased to have the certificate of recognition, which reflects our ongoing work and prioritisation of cyber security.
