Council wins national award for fourth year in a row

The local authority has again won a gold performance award from GeoPlace for the management of its street information. The award highlights Dudley as an example of best practice and acknowledges its consistent high standards for managing this information.

The gold award recognises how well local authorities maintain land, property, street and address information to connect services across the council and provide residents with information about services available to them in their home or business.

It helps deliver essential services such as waste collection and gritting.

The award was announced at a special webinar celebrating the achievements of local authorities, which took place instead of GeoPlace’s usual annual conference at the end of last month.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for procurement, transformation and commercialisation, said:

“Congratulations to those involved on winning these awards.

“It’s fair to say their work often goes unnoticed but they contribute significantly to the success of service delivery across the council.”
