Couple win dream wedding at Thomas Robinson Building open day
A delighted couple are set to tie the knot at the Thomas Robinson Building after winning a free wedding ceremony at the venue's recent wedding fayre and open day.
Kyle and Laura were among couples who attended the event, hosted by Dudley Registrars at the popular Grade II listed building in Stourbridge.
The couple even took part in one of the day's demonstration ceremonies before later discovering they had been selected as the winners of the free ceremony prize draw.
Their names were drawn by the Deputy Mayor of Dudley, who attended the event and announced the lucky winners at the end of the day.
Kyle and Laura are now looking forward to returning to the venue to celebrate their wedding in April 2027.
Jack said:
"We were really shocked when we found out we'd won. We'd only gone along to the open day to see the venue because we were already planning to get married there, so it was an amazing surprise.
"There were lots of people entering the draw and we never normally win anything, so we're absolutely delighted."
Councillor Ed Lawrence, cabinet member for transformation, said:
"Congratulations to Kyle and Laura on winning their wedding ceremony at the Thomas Robinson Building.
"Our wedding fayres and open days are a fantastic opportunity for couples to explore the venue, meet our registrars and wedding suppliers, and gather ideas for their special day. We're delighted the event was such a success and wish Kyle and Laura every happiness as they look forward to their wedding in April 2027."
The Deputy Mayor of Dudley said:
"It was a pleasure to attend the wedding fayre and open day and meet so many couples preparing for their big day.
"Congratulations to Kyle and Laura on winning the prize draw. I hope they have a wonderful wedding day and a long and happy future together."
