Cracking Easter fun in Dudley borough

Children can put a spring into their step over the Easter holiday with activities taking place across Dudley borough.

Duncan Edwards, Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres are offering sessions including free swimming, family disability swims and soft play and £1 football sessions are on offer at The Dell Stadium. Full information is online at www.dbleisure.co.uk/school-holiday-activities 

There will be a range of activities taking place in libraries including Lego, K’Nex, spring and Easter crafts, Rattle and Rhyme, storytelling, treasure hunts, boards games, and badge making.

Free Easter trails will take place in Dudley, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Sedgley from Monday 25 March to Sunday 7 April. People can collect a trail sheet from their local library, completed sheets should be handed back to the library to receive a sticker and a Charlie the Chick toy, subject to availability.

A free comedy magic show, with balloon modelling by Will-e-droppit, will add to the fun on Tuesday 26 March from 11am at Coseley Library. There will also be fun activities in Dudley’s marketplace and library on 27 March with crazy, golf, face paining, balloon artists, Reggae Boys and colouring stations.

At Dudley Museum at The Archives, there will be a free geology talk on Saturday 30 March, dinosaur crafts on Thursday 4 April and a free guided tour on Saturday 6 April. People can find out more and book onto sessions by visiting the museum’s ticket source page.

The Red House Glass Cone remains open as usual during ongoing reinstatement works. Children can enjoy 30 minutes of Easter crafts followed by a trail around the site looking for clues on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 March. Families can watch a live musical rendition of Alice in Wonderland at Stourbridge Town Hall on Sunday 7 April at 2pm. Follow Alice and the White Rabbit as they set off on a colourful, topsy-turvy adventure, meeting a host of outlandish characters. Funtime Theatre will perform a free Easter pantomime of Goldilocks on Monday 25 March at the Beacon Centre in Sedgley at 11am and The Talbot Hotel in Stourbridge at 2pm. The performance will also come to Brierley Hill Market Hall on Saturday 30 March at 2pm.

There will be town centre activities from Halesowen BID for families to enjoy this Easter with Easter Bunny visits on Saturday 30 March, mini bumper cars and bungee trampolines on Tuesday 2 April, spring crafts on Wednesday 3 April, and sustainability children’s Workshop on Thursday 4 April.

Halesowen BID is also partnering with Life Central Church to deliver an Easter egg hunt in Halesowen, starting from the town library, with details on the Dudley Library Facebook page.

Dudley Holiday Activities (HAF) provides free school holiday activities and food across the borough for children aged five to 16 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals and other vulnerable groups. Funded by the Department of Education, and hosted by Dudley Council it provides a variety of exciting activities and clubs with nearly 60 providers.
