Crystal Leisure Centre lit up to mark efforts of carers and key workers
Crystal Leisure Centre is the latest council building to be lit up in honour of NHS staff and carers fighting on the frontline against coronavirus.
Leisure centre staff added blue and green lighting to the Bell Street building in Stourbridge last night (Thursday).
The blue represents NHS workers, while the green is for social care staff, care providers, key workers, local government staff and those in the voluntary sector.
It marked another night of tributes to NHS and care staff which saw people clapping on their door steps.
Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, said:
“The NHS and care staff have gone to incredible lengths during this pandemic and it is only right we take every opportunity to show our appreciation.”
The Council House in Dudley and Himley Hall, along with Dudley Town Hall, Stourbridge Town Hall, Cornbow Hall in Halesowen and Dudley Leisure Centre, have also been bathed in green and blue in recent weeks as a tribute to incredible staff.
