Daily online briefings launched from today Saturday 15 August for residents affected by Norton Fire

The first briefing will take place today online at 2pm today, Saturday 15 August, with further briefings held daily at 2pm. The link will be posted on the council website shortly before each meeting

Those affected residents who have no internet access can attend an in-person live stream at Stourbridge Town Hall at 2pm this afternoon. Please arrive for 1.45pm. Please note this is for those people who are directly affected only.

The sessions have been set up for residents who have been displaced or affected by the fire, as well as representatives supporting them. We will provide the latest information on the response, recovery efforts and updates provided by West Midlands Fire Service on road closures/openings and update on access to properties. 

Councillor Ed Lawrence, portfolio holder responsible for emergency planning, said: 

"We know this has been a difficult and unsettling time for residents affected by the fire and that many people are looking for regular information about what happens next. 

"These daily briefings will provide a dedicated opportunity for affected residents to hear the latest updates and ask questions in the chat. 

"We would encourage anyone who has been impacted by the incident, or is representing someone who has, to join us. 

"To make sure those who need information most can access the briefings and have the opportunity to ask questions, we ask that only residents directly affected by the fire, or their representatives, attend."
