Deadlines for alternative ways to vote
Deadlines are looming for Dudley borough residents to register for alternative ways to vote in this year’s local elections.
People will be heading to the polls on May 5 to vote in the local elections.
But people can also choose to vote by post or get someone else to vote on their behalf, referred to as a proxy vote.
The deadline for people to register to vote by post is April 19 while people have until April 26 to register to vote by proxy.
There are 25 seats being contested on Dudley Council across 24 wards.
Kevin O’Keefe, Dudley Council chief executive and electoral returning officer, said:
There are different ways people can choose to vote but it’s important that everyone who is eligible has their say at the polls.
There is lots of information on our website including how to vote and the different ways to do that. But people need to be aware of the deadlines.”
People also have until April 14 to register to vote at a polling station.
