Deputy mayor to attend hospital fundraiser

The deputy mayor will be attending a charity football match next week to raise funds for Russell’s Hall Hospital Emergency Department.

The event, which is being organised by Emergency Department Paediatric Lead Nurse Joanne Timmins, will raise funds for a staff tranquillity room. This dedicated calming space will help improve staff wellbeing, along with improving existing staff facilities.

The event is supported by Kewford Eagles who have donated use of the grounds and facilities, with Village Trophies donating the winning cup.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Andrea Goddard and Deputy Consort Councillor James Clinton are set to attend the event.

The ED Charity Football Match will take place at Kewford Eagles Football Ground, 3 Swindon Road, Kingswinford, DY6 0AW on Saturday 13 August at 1.30pm.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Andrea Goddard, said:
This is a really worthwhile event and the funds raised will really help to make a difference.
A staff tranquillity room will help hardworking staff to recharge before heading back out to support patients. They really deserve this dedicated space as a pleasant place to grab a much needed break during long, demanding shifts.
Paediatric Lead Nurse Nurse, Joanne Timmins said:
Covid has been, and still is a struggle for services so we want to give something back to the staff so that they can have space to reflect and have time out if needed.
I hope people will show their support, come along to the football match and help us raise funds for hardworking NHS staff

The event runs from 12-6pm, with kick off at 1.30pm. Refreshments will be available or people can bring a picnic. There will be stalls and ice cream. Entry costs £2 entry, under 12s go free. £4 parking.
