Disability information day 2022
There’s a chance to find out about the support available for people who are living with a disability, as well as their families and informal carers at an event this month.
The information day at Queen’s Cross Network, in Wellington Road, Dudley, takes place on Saturday 25 June and will provide information on the range of support available, as well as educational opportunities for younger adults who are leaving school, benefits advice and more.
There will be a host of stalls where people can get information on support for people with specific disabilities such as vision loss, hearing loss, multiple sclerosis, support with dementia related needs, and support for unpaid carers.
There will also be speakers giving talks on specific disability-related topics, including disability employment rights, living well feeling safe, carers’ support, dementia care and Makaton.
Councillor Natalie Neale, cabinet member for adult social care, said:
There is a whole host of support available for people living with a disability and their families and carers too, but not everyone is aware of the support on their doorstep.
This event will be a ‘one-stop-shop’, perfect for finding out everything you need to know about disability information or support in Dudley borough.
The day runs from 10am until 3pm at the Wellington Road centre, DY1 1QU. Split into 2 sessions, a morning session from 10 am until 12.15 and an afternoon session from 1 pm until 3 pm.
