Dudley Council House to be lit up in pink
Dudley Council House is to be lit up in pink tomorrow evening (Sep 9) to mark Organ Donation Week.
The building on Priory Road will be lit up from 7pm.
Organ Donation Week runs until Sunday.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, said:
We are marking this very important week in a symbolic way by lighting up the council house.
Organ donation saves and transforms lives, and we are backing the drive nationally to raise awareness and hopefully find more donors.
In May this year the law around organ donation changed in England. All adults are now considered as having agreed to donate their own organs when they die, unless they record a decision not to donate, are in one of the excluded groups or have told their family that they don’t want to donate.
