Dudley Council marks international day
People came together in Dudley this morning to mark International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOTB).
Taking place on Coronation Gardens, the gathering included speeches from the Mayor of Dudley as well as readings from selected guests.
Dudey Council House and Dudley Castle are both flying the rainbow flag, and these will remain in place for the rest of the day.
Councillor Pete Lee, the Mayor of Dudley, said:
“Hundreds of events take place in over 130 countries across the world to mark this significant day within the LGBTQI+ community.
“We know that some people continue to live in fear of expressing their sexuality and gender freely, but by marking this event we show our solidarity with those who face discrimination and celebrate diversity.”
