Dudley Council scoops Land Data Awards
Dudley Council’s Local Land Charges team has won a 2024 customer satisfaction award for local authority searches in the Land Data 2024 Excellence Awards.
The council team, which manages thousands of land and property searches each year and is an essential part of the home buying and selling process for residents, has also received the award in previous years.
The national awards recognise the work and achievements of local land charges departments in England and Wales.
For this year’s awards land data received 169 entries and nominations across seven categories from solicitors, licensed conveyancers, customer services experts and local land charges personnel. Award winners were selected from a shortlist of 84 local authority teams and individuals, from 69 local authorities.
The customer satisfaction award covers local authorities in England and Wales and is voted on by conveyancers and solicitors who are asked to describe how a team goes above and beyond to turn around searches quickly, efficiently, accurately with a great attitude and providing excellent value for money.
The team at Dudley remains responsible for ongoing management of new data onto the register, ensuring the most accurate information available is accessible to conveyancers and home buyers.
Councillor Steve Clarke, cabinet member for finance, legal and human resources, said:
"Dudley Council operates a very efficient Local Land Charges service and we are proud to have received this award again.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the officers who continue to go above and beyond in providing this important function for the council."
Since its launch in 2008, the annual Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence remains the only national awards celebrating the achievements and successes of local authority local land charges departments across England and Wales.
