Dudley Enterprise Zone welcomes international vehicle electrics specialist

An international vehicle electrics specialist is hoping to strengthen its ties with the local business community after moving into Dudley’s DY5 Enterprise Zone.

Herth + Buss UK have relocated to a brand-new 1,625 sq. metre warehouse at the Dreadnought Business Park in Brierley Hill.

Originally from Germany, the family-run business has been trading successfully for more than 95 years in the vehicle electrics and spare parts market.

Following a period of consistent growth, the firm was inspired to relocate by the generous business rates relief on offer in the Enterprise Zone and its central location.

Ben Judd, director of operations at Herth + Buss UK, said:

We wanted to have more flexibility on our investments in the local area, so it made a lot of sense to choose the DY5 Enterprise Zone for our relocation, given the relief on business rates.
Good infrastructure is so important to our business and the internet speed and transport links here are excellent. We’re close to the motorway network and several airports, so we’re able to service all of our customers in the UK.
We’re keen to develop our ties with the Dudley business community and expand our team once we are fully operational at our new location.

Herth + Buss will be using their new warehouse for the sales, storage and distribution of high-quality automotive parts throughout the UK and Ireland. The warehouse will employ eight members of staff.

Helen Martin, director of regeneration and enterprise at Dudley Council, said:

We’re thrilled to welcome a high-profile international company like Herth + Buss to the DY5 Enterprise Zone.
Nearly 100 businesses have moved into the Zone since it was launched in 2017 and interest is continuing to grow. More than 800 jobs have been created at our sites in the five years that the Zone has been operating, which has provided a significant boost to our local economy.
