Dudley family voices workshop
Parents and carers are invited to join Dudley Family Voices for a special workshop next week where they can share their aspirations for their children and ideas on services which will benefit them in the future.
The workshop, organised by Dudley Council, will give parents and carers from across Dudley borough the opportunity to find out more about Dudley Family Voices, which aims to create the best life chances for children and younger people.
The group was created in 2023 and is keen to expand and make sure the voices of all parents and carers are represented.
Everyone is welcome to attend the next workshop, which takes place on Wednesday September 25 from 10am to noon at the local family hub in Coseley.
During the session, group members will be asked to share their wishes for the future, will take a closer look at services and give ideas and suggestions on what’s working well and what needs to change.
Councillor David Stanley, cabinet member for children’s services and education, said:
As we continue to develop our Child Friendly Dudley initiative, we know it’s really important that the voices of children and young people are heard so we can develop services that meet the needs and wants of our younger generation. It’s also really important that we listen to the views of parents and carers.
Through the Dudley family hub network, we have helped support the creation of Dudley Family Voices. This is safe space where parents and carers can feel comfortable to talk freely about the needs of children and young people, where they can truly help make a difference and influence the delivery of future services.
The workshop being held later this month is an informal session, which everyone is welcome to attend, children too. We just ask people to confirm attendance in advance.
