Dudley Performing Arts at Symphony Hall

More than 1000 Dudley youngsters will be performing in front of an audience of parents, friends and the Mayor of Dudley next month.

Birmingham’s Symphony Hall will be hosting two concerts by young musicians from Dudley Performing Arts which will feature hundreds of children singing or playing musical instruments. Performances will include large scale choirs, individual soloists, wind bands, string ensembles, guitar and keyboard groups, special school orchestra, school choirs and projects for beginner instrumentalists.

There will be two concerts in the main hall and a series of foyer performances from the young people who attend a borough school or live in the borough of Dudley.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Andrea Goddard said:
“I’m really looking forward to seeing our young people play in such a prestigious venue.

“Our young musicians and singers always give their all at any performance but I’m sure that they and their families will be particularly excited to see them performing on this internationally renowned stage.

“It’s thanks to the hard work of staff and the volunteers and friends from Dudley Performing Arts that we’ve been able to secure this fantastic venue and I can’t wait to see the concerts.”

Concert One from 11.30am to 2pm features guitar and keyboard ensembles, Stage Struck, Pulse, Special Orchestra, Come And Play school learners and primary school choirs. This is followed by a children's open mic from 2pm to 3.45pm

Concert Two runs from 4pm to 6pm and features UpBeat Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, Youth Orchestra, brass, strings and woodwind soloists. This is supported by primary and secondary school choirs and Come And Play Guitars
