Dudley’s mayor gets the vaccine – and urges others to have it too
The Mayor of Dudley has had the first jab of the Covid-19 vaccine – and is urging those who are offered it to follow suit.
The first citizen, Councillor David Stanley, attended Black Country Living Museum this week after falling within one of the four priority groups for the vaccine.
Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, said:
I’m pleased to report it was a relatively painless process and I have had no side effects at all from the vaccine.
For a big centre, it was superbly organised and I was in and out to get it done very quickly.
The vaccine is the biggest weapon we have in the fight against the coronavirus and that is why I have had it, and I would urge everyone else in the borough to have it too.
The NHS will contact residents as and when they become eligible for the vaccine via GPs, healthcare professionals and employers.
