Early years inclusion hubs announced

Dudley Council has released details of five providers that are poised to become the borough’s early years inclusion hubs.

The local authority is working closely with them to offer dedicated spaces for young children with additional needs.

The selected providers are Netherton Park Nursery School for central Dudley, Wrens Nest Primary School for north Dudley, Mind The Monkeys for Brierley Hill, Caslon Primary School for Halesowen and Hob Green Primary School for Stourbridge.

Offering personalised, targeted and specialist interventions for children and families, the network of hubs will have staffing capacity that meets the needs of children with special educational needs.

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children’s services, said:

“As a child friendly authority, we are delighted to be able to confirm the five successful providers, which will enable more young children with additional needs to access more support and provision in their local community.

“Children and families continue to be supported by their current early years providers and families have been contacted to discuss transition arrangements where applicable.”

It is anticipated that children will start to benefit from new placements this term. For further information parents and carers can contact the early years team on 01384 814364.
