Duncan Edwards, Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres are offering sessions including free swimming, family disability swims and soft play and £1 football sessions are on offer at The Dell Stadium.
All Dudley borough residents aged 16 and under can enjoy free swimming at the three leisure centres from 23 March to 7 April inclusive. For terms and conditions, opening times and to register, which must be done in advance of a visit, people can go to www.freeswimindudley.co.uk
Crystal will offer the DJ led ‘Waikiki Waves’ water disco in the leisure pool on Friday 5 April from 6pm to 8pm. The activity is exclusively for families and bodyboards are provided at no extra cost. There is no session available on Friday 29 March due to the bank holiday early closure.
Children under five can enjoy a stay and play session at Crystal every Tuesday from 10am - 11am, with bouncy castle, soft balls, frisbees, foam bricks, tricycles and toys. Under 5s Splash Time sessions in Halesowen’s learner pool, take place every Friday from 9.30am to 11.30am.
At the Dell Stadium, children aged eight and over can enjoy daily kickabouts on the 3G football pitch for £1 each, or £2 for over 16s. Now available on bank holidays, sessions will take place from Monday 25 March to Friday 29 March, and from Monday 1 April to Friday 5 April. Session times are 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4pm. Appropriate football boots must be worn, and youngsters are asked to bring their own balls.
The Planet Play areas at Duncan Edwards and Halesowen will offer soft play for children up to the age of 11 including SEN sessions for children with disabilities, ASD and special educational needs on selected days and times. Crystal’s soft play facility will also be open for children aged seven and under.
Table-tennis and badminton is available at Duncan Edwards and Crystal throughout the week for children aged eight years and above, with equipment available to hire.
Councillor Paul Bradley, deputy leader at Dudley Council, said:
“It’s great to see our centres offering another fantastic programme of activities to help children take part in sport and physical activity this Easter.
“There is something on offer for children of all age groups and our wonderful SEN sessions cater specifically to children with disabilities and special educational needs.
“The free swimming is always incredibly popular, and I would remind families this is operated on a first come first served basis.”
All sessions and activities are subject to availability and terms and conditions apply, with a responsible adult expected to accompany adults on many activities. Parents are advised to check out the latest information online before making their visit at www.dbleisure.co.uk/school-holiday-activities
