Extra green bins available
Kerbside garden collections have restarted – and residents with lots of green waste are being urged to get a second bin for their homes.
The brown-lidded green bins can be purchased for a one-off payment of £31.72, with an additional £40 fee payable for the standard collection season.
The extra bin can be put out on the same day as normal green bin collection, and both will be emptied.
Balvinder Heran, deputy chief executive, said:
It’s the time of year where people start focussing on their gardens ready for summer.
If you’ve got lots of waste to get rid of, a second bin could be a quick and cost-effective way of getting rid of it.
Ordering a second bin can be done very quickly online, providing extra capacity for your grass cuttings, hedge clippings, weeds, leaves, small branches and small prunings.
