February fun at libraries
Parents can keep youngsters busy this half term with a host of free activities at Dudley borough libraries.
Brierley Hill will be hosting valentine’s crafts, board games, dragon Lego and storytime. The ever-popular Professor Black will be in on Friday 16 February with his Cryptozoology show with tales of Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, OwlMan and the Jersey Devil.
Coseley Library is out to sea with a series of pirate and parrot craft activities.
Cradley is going all out for Lego, badgemaking and lots and lots of rattle and rhyme for little ones.
Dudley Library has three Lego Spike sessions, a combined Lego building and coding activity, as well as standard Lego and craft clubs.
Gornal will celebrating both pancake day and valentines day in its activities as well as running a board games afternoon, rattle and rhyme session and Lego clubs.
Halesowen is getting inspired with the Chinese New Year, with origami and dragon themes crafts as well as a children’s film screening on Saturday 27 February.
Kingswinford will be hosting a Chinese New Year dragon craft as well as Valentine's activities and tiger and monkey crafts.
Over at Long Lane there's a Chinese New Year dragon craft, two rattle and rhyme sessions, a valentine's craft and children's party games.
At Lye there will be lots of Chinese New Year crafts as well as games and quizzes, Lego and K’nex club, rattle and rhyme and story time.
Over at Netherton there's a day of Lego challenges on Monday 12 February, as well as valentine's crafts, a board games day and a mindful colouring session.
Sedgley Library has got firework and love bug crafts as well as glitter tattoos and transfers and a Lego Spike session.
Stourbridge Library has a series of fantasy activities including character drawing, sword making, silhouette craft and fantasy map drawing. There will also be a games club craft club and Chinese New Year crafts.
Wordsley library will have lovebug and pancake crafts as well as rattle and rhyme specials and two wizard workshops on 15th February for which booking is essential.
Councillor Ian Bevan, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said:
“As part of our Child Friendly Dudley initiative, we want all our children and young people to enjoy learning and playing in their local community.
“Our borough libraries are continuing to offer fun free activities this half term and I would encourage families to get down to their local library to find out more.”

“We have lots of fun activities on offer in Dudley borough libraries this half term with Lego Spike sessions, valentine’s crafts and activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Little ones aren’t forgotten either with lots of extra Rattle and Rhyme sessions for parents and tots. We’ve two events with Professor Black, one at the newly refurbished Brierley Hill library and one at Wordsley.”
