Final preparations for Under 5s Day

Young children and their families are being invited to join Under 5s Day at Himley Hall and Park this Friday (24 June).

Event organiser, Dudley Council installed the ever-popular Himley Beach today, Tuesday 21 June, with over 80 tonnes of sand and hundreds of vibrantly coloured buckets and spades at the ready to give youngsters a taste of seaside fun.

The fun filled event runs from 10am to 3pm and is specifically designed for children aged under five.

PAW Patrol characters Marshall and Skye will be the stars of the show, featuring in Story Time sessions at intervals throughout the day.

Activities on offer include a small petting zoo, the Air Ambulance helipod, Punch & Judy shows, pony rides, Lego for younger children, giant tortoises, a kiddie’s funfair, Box of Magic, balloon modelling, taster sessions for Hive of Craftivity Minimakers, MooMusic, MusicBugs, Peaceful Warriors Yoga, TumbleTots, BabyBallet, NN Dance and Cheer and the Road Safety Team.

The Mayor of Dudley Councillor Sue Greenaway said:

Dudley is a Child Friendly borough, where we want children to grow and flourish through opportunities to learn, play and have adventures.
I’m delighted to see Under 5s Day return as it is such an important and valued event - not only for our youngest citizens but also for their parents and carers.
