Final preparations under way for eagerly-awaited fireworks event
Final preparations are under way for this year’s eagerly-awaited Himley Fireworks, with tickets still available for the showpiece extravaganza.
The Dudley Council event, organised in association with SWG Group, is the biggest local authority-led fireworks show in the UK.
It takes place on Saturday November 8 and will this year celebrate music through the decades.
Visitors can enjoy a spectacular 30-minute fireworks display choreographed to music as well as live entertainment, a giant funfair, a night market and food and drink stalls.
BBC Radio WM presenter Ed James will compere the event, with a ‘Word of Mouth’ DJ set and two giant event screens bringing the theme to life.
There will be a silent disco and exclusive bars for those with Premium Viewing tickets. There are only a few left and they must be pre-booked.
For a true VIP experience, people can also upgrade to a Hall Access ticket, which gives access to Himley Hall and includes hot food. Those tickets must also be booked in advance and are selling fast.
Damian Corfield, cabinet member responsible for Himley Hall, said:
“Himley Fireworks is one of the highlights of our local calendar – a spectacular evening that brings thousands together to enjoy fireworks, entertainment and community spirit.
“We only have just over a week to go now, and it’s at this point where we normally see a real surge in ticket sales. So I’d urge people to get in quick to avoid disappointment – you don’t want to miss out on what will be another fantastic night.”
The event, which attracts around 20,000 visitors each year, is also sponsored by Jewson Partnership Solutions, Halesowen College, K2 Services and Your Freedom Empire.
Tickets start from £12.50 for a standard single adult, with the Premium Viewing and Hall Access tickets available for an additional charge. Tickets for children, concessions and families are also available.
Shuttle buses from Diamond and National Express will run across the borough for just £1 each way. People can find out more about the event and book online now at www.himleyhallandpark.co.uk
