Final push for Beat the Street Dudley

The final push for points has started as Beat the Street, the giant game taking place across Dudley borough, draws to a close.

From 3 August, until the end of the game is the game’s Go Celebrate week. To encourage players to make one final push, every Beat Box in the game will be giving out double points during the final week. People can also earn triple points at our Mobile Beat Box from 12-4pm at the remaining #DudleyPlayWeek events: - Fri 5 August at Dell Stadium - Sat 6 August at Stevens Park, Quarry Bank.

The game will come to an end at 7pm on the 10 August when the leaderboard will then be taken down and the winners announced shortly after the competition.

Nearly 25,000 people have signed up and have together walked, cycled, wheeled, run and scooted an incredible 93,500 miles so far in the competition.

Councillor Ian Bevan, cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, said:
Unbelievably, we are now moving into ‘Go Celebrate Week’, the final week of Beat the Street,
The game has really brought the whole community together and we’ve heard heart-warming stories of residents chatting to each other and of players getting to experience green spaces and parts of their towns that they might not have known about before.
The Beat the Street game itself is just the start though – when the game comes to an end, we’ll then continue to work with the local community to ensure that these healthy lifestyle habits are put into action and players are signposted to activities and community groups that they might not have known about before.

Beat the Street Dudley has been commissioned by Dudley Council and the Canal and River Trust with support from the National Lottery via Sport England. It is being delivered by Intelligent Health.
