FREE fitness sessions

Free weekly fitness sessions will be taking place in borough parks throughout December to help people get active for free.

The 45-minute outdoor sessions are part of Dudley Council’s Park Active initiative and are delivered by qualified volunteers. They are designed to suit people of all ages and abilities and are family friendly too.

Sessions will be held at Stevens Park in Quarry Bank on Mondays, meeting at the bandstand at 10am, at Stevens Park in Wollescote on Saturdays, meeting on the main car park at 9.45 and at Grange Park in Dudley on Sundays, meeting at the bandstand at 10am.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, cabinet member for health an adult social care, said:

“Although mornings might be a little chilly at the moment, these free sessions are a great excuse to get up and out to enjoy the fresh air and get active too.

“These sessions are run by qualified volunteers but there is absolutely no pressure, people of all abilities are welcome to attend and do as much or as little as they are able to.”

Each group is currently limited to 30 participants who must book online in advance, and all sessions are weather dependent.

No additional equipment is required, participants should wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring hand sanitiser and a drink.
