Free panto this weekend
Families will be able to enjoy free pantos at Christmas events taking place this weekend.
The free performances have been funded by Dudley Business First and will take place during the Christmas lights switch on events being held in Dudley and Brierley Hill on Saturday December 3.
The Dudley event will take place from noon to 5pm. There will be live entertainment on stage, with Black Country Radio broadcasting live during the day.
Showings of Sleeping Beauty will take place at 2.30 and 4pm in the Fountain Arcade (by the florists) and the lights will be switched on at 5pm by the Mayor of Dudley and Kath Stanczyszyn from BBC WM.
In Brierley Hill, the event runs from 9am to 5pm and will include live entertainment and funfair rides.
There will be a performance of Sleeping Beauty at 11am in the market. The town will be lit up for Christmas at 5pm when Father Christmas turns on the lights.
The events coincide with Small Business Saturday, a national campaign to encourage people to shop local.
Councillor Sue Greenaway, the Mayor of Dudley, said:
With free pantomimes and live entertainment on stage, these events are bound to bring some festive cheer to the towns ahead of the big day.
I’d urge people to come along and celebrate with us and if they can, support the small businesses in our towns this weekend.
People do not need to book tickets for the pantomimes in advance.
Free car parking will also be available on Dudley Council operated car parks at the events in Dudley and Brierley Hill. For the locations of these car parks, visit the MyDudley car parking page.
