Free town centre parking to support Dudley borough’s summer events programme
Dudley Council is offering free town centre parking in council run car parks over the coming weeks, to coincide with summer events taking place across the borough.
There will be free parking in Halesowen on Saturday 4 July for Halesowen Carnival and Music Festival. The popular event, which is organised by the Halesowen BID and local community, marks the start of the borough’s Black Country Festival celebrations and will be officially opened by the Mayor, Mayoress and the Mayor’s Cadet at 11.30am.
People can also enjoy free parking in Brierley Hill on the same day, as the Dudley Council organised Brier Fair returns from 10am to 4pm, bringing a lively mix of entertainment.
The festivities will continue with Stourbridge Carnival on Sunday 5 July from 10am–5pm, offering a full day of celebration across multiple town centre locations, with free parking in all council car parks in Stourbridge.
Free parking will also come to Dudley on Saturday 18 July when Dudley Pride takes place at Stone Street Square, featuring a vibrant programme of live performances, family fun and over 30 stalls.
By offering free parking during the events, the authority hopes to encourage people to visit town centres, support local traders and make the most of the summer fun.
Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for economy and infrastructure, said:
“We’re proud to support this fantastic programme of free summer events across the borough, bringing communities together.
“By offering free town centre parking, we’re making it easier for residents and visitors alike to attend, enjoy the celebrations and spend time in our high streets.
“Events like these not only provide great entertainment for families but also give a real boost to our local economy by increasing footfall and supporting businesses.”
