Family events at Dudley Market

Fun family events at Dudley Market this summer holiday

Lego, Scalextric racing and magic workshops are all on offer at Dudley Market in a series of free family fun days during the summer break

The historic open-air market in Dudley town centre will be the setting for three events for people of all ages to enjoy in July and August, organised by Tudor Markets and supported by Dudley Council.

Creativity and imagination is the theme of the first fun day on Thursday 27 July. Children and adults alike can get lost in the world of Lego with one of the several creation stations set up at the market. Visitors can also test their skills with a game of customisable mini golf.

The second fun day on Thursday 3 August is all about magic and mischief with interactive, old-fashioned magic shows for all the family to enjoy. Performers will also be teaching circus skills at the event.

Thursday 10 August is race day as a large Scalextric track will be installed at the market for racers to relive their younger days and pass on their high-speed skills to their families.

Face painters, balloon artists and a selfie pod will also be available at each event, with all three family fun days running from 11am to 3pm.

Scott Simpson, general manager of Tudor Markets, said:

Tudor Markets are pleased to be working alongside Dudley Council to provide free family fun and entertainment for the whole community to enjoy.
The market will also be filled with traders offering a range of products to browse.

Councillor Paul Bradley, deputy leader of Dudley Council, said:

We’re happy to support this fantastic programme of fun days for families at Dudley Market during the summer holidays.
Events like these help to bring more people into the town centre to support our traders and boost the local economy.

Dudley Market is also looking for food vendors, craft sellers and musicians to attend the family fun days. Interested traders and performers should contact enquiries@tudormarkets.com to express their interest.

The market is open six days a week from 9am to 3pm and offers a variety of goods including fruit and vegetables, clothing, technology, books and more.
