Green spaces granted additional protection

Three green spaces in Dudley borough are receiving enhanced protections to help retain them for future generations.


Ends High Arcal Park, Milking Bank Park and Milking Bank Open Space already have protection measures in place, but these will be upgraded following recent ecological surveys.

The additional protections will help to conserve wildlife and ecology at the three sites, as part of the local plan.

The move follows additional protections being awarded to Delph Locks, Grange Park and Mousesweet Brook in 2024.

Anne Boyd, director of growth and infrastructure, said:

"Dudley Council is committed to conserving our natural environment time and we are working to designate more of our conservation areas in order to protect local habitat and wildlife.

"We are pleased to enhance protections for three more sites in the borough, where our ecological reports have confirmed that they remain important for wildlife and local biodivers
