Have your say on the Dudley Borough Local Plan
People who live and work in Dudley borough can now have their say on a new blueprint for the future use of land across the borough.
The new Dudley Borough Local Plan will be a strategy for future development, with the aim of ensuring enough homes are built and with the vision of supporting a thriving economy for future generations.
This week, the council adopted the Dudley Local Plan, however during the development of this, planning policy changed meaning the council needs to prepare this new plan, called the Dudley Borough Local Plan.
This new plan will provide a strategy for future development until 2045.
The initial consultation for the new plan launches today (July 16) and will run until September 10.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:
“Since the Dudley Local Plan was created, there has been national changes in planning legislation, and we are among a number of local authorities who need to revisit our local plan.
“We are now working on a new Dudley Borough Local Plan, and this is your chance to help shape it.
“A local plan makes sure we’ve got enough homes, supports local jobs and businesses, helps create great places to live and builds strong communities.
“Because every planning application gets checked against the Local Plan, over time those decisions literally shape the whole borough. It sets out where development should and shouldn’t happen, so it’s important that we hear your views.”
