Help is available to stay safe at Christmas
As Christmas approaches, the Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership has come together to ask people to stay alert and report any concerns about anyone experiencing abuse or harm.
The Dudley safeguarding service offers a confidential and safe way of reporting concerns about the welfare of children and adults and offers around the clock help and support to those at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and young people, said:
At a time of year when many families are celebrating Christmas, some children and adults have fears for their wellbeing and that is why all agencies are pulling together to provide support for people who need it.
People can go online at www.dudleyconnect.com/need-a-lifeline to find a wealth of help, support and information.
Dr Paul Kingston Independent Chair of Dudley People Partnership said:
It is really important during this stressful period with restrictions due to covid and families gathered together that concerns about children and adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect are reported to the safeguarding agencies. Please stay alert and report your concerns if you have any.
People who suspect a child is being harmed or neglected should call children’s service’s referral and advice service on 0300 555 0050.
Out of office hours and on Bank Holidays people can contact the emergency duty team on 0300 555 8574.
