Help to keep warm this winter
As temperatures drop this week, residents are reminded they can get help staying warm at home this winter.
The Winter Warmth service from Dudley Energy Advice Line offers information, advice and practical support to help residents keep affordably warm at home.
It can also help people access free home insulation, solar panels and new energy efficient boilers, if they qualify, as well as providing emergency temporary heating, emergency fuel payments and heated blankets to people in real need.
Anyone concerned about being cold in their home, or worried about a friend, relative or neighbour can call and request free assistance.
The winter warmth service has been running for nearly 15 years and has helped thousands of residents stay warm during the cold winter months.
Councillor Ian Bevan, cabinet member for housing, said:
“As we head into the winter months, it’s really important we keep our homes warm to help us stay well.
“Increasing energy prices affect everyone, so many people may really benefit from the free advice our winter warmth service can provide.
“Please get in touch if you are struggling or worried about how you will cover the cost of heating your home this winter, we are here to help.”
The winter warmth pages on the council website contains downloadable advice booklets as well as contact details for the service
