Help us make a Healthy Dudley
Dudley Council has revamped its public health website, Healthy Dudley, to help local people make changes to improve their health and wellbeing.
The site provides information to do with physical, emotional and mental health across all ages from early years to later life. There is support to help people with healthier lifestyles, such as free outdoor exercise classes and help to quit smoking.
There’s also advice on immunisations, alcohol awareness, healthy pregnancy, information about common illnesses and dementia prevention. There are also toolkits and guides to help people cope with bereavement, manage stress and planning for later life.
Councillor James Clinton, cabinet member for public health, said:
“This new website has a wealth of information, all the way from the beginning of life with healthy pregnancy support, through all our life stages.
“There’s information about free exercise opportunities in local parks as well as one-to-one healthy lifestyle support for families, with regular updates on news and activities.
“It’s a really useful resource and I’d recommend people have a look and check out their social media channels too.”
Local support includes:
Starting well – healthy pregnancy, childhood and support with parenting
Living well – healthy living, health checks and coping with bereavement and cost of living
Ageing well – to keep you moving and socially connected in later years
Protecting your health – immunisations, seasonal wellbeing and more
Healthy communities – supporting local community groups, sharing ideas and what’s on in your area
Links to support and resources – support services, recipes and guides
