Leader calls on residents to support Lionesses
The leader of Dudley Council is calling on residents to show their support for the Lionesses ahead of this weekend’s World Cup final.
England’s women’s football team, the current champions of Europe, will face Spain in a bid to lift the trophy on Sunday August 20. Kick off time is 11am (GMT).
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:
The country was euphoric last summer when England’s women were crowned champions of Europe.
Now’s the time to get your St George’s flags out again and show your support for the Lionesses ahead of what promises to be one of the biggest moments in the history of England’s women’s game.
On behalf of Dudley borough, I wish the Lionesses the very best of luck on Sunday.
