Leader welcomes investment
The leader of Dudley Council has welcomed a multi million pound funding boost to support existing plans to breathe new life into Dudley town centre.
The government has this week announced additional funding for local authorities across the country to support its national levelling up programme.
Dudley Council will receive £20million to support its work to regenerate the town centre, while giving local people an opportunity to have their say on how the money is spent.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:
This is fantastic news for Dudley. This additional funding will complement existing multi-million-pound regeneration plans for the town centre, which includes the new Dudley Interchange, the Metro extension and £25million towns fund, which is being used to develop new educational facilities.
We are a council with ambitious plans and look forward to engaging with our local communities on how this additional funding can enhance the work we are doing.
