Leader welcomes new business
The Leader of Dudley Council has hailed a new business in Kingswinford “a welcome boost to the town” as he announced almost £100million in grants had been given to local businesses throughout the pandemic.
Since March last year the council has issued more than £96 million in more than 10,000 grants to support thousands of businesses across the borough during the toughest times.
Now with light at the end of the tunnel and many businesses able to reopen, the council is committed to supporting them as they begin to recover.
In support one of the borough’s newest businesses, CBTanning Studio which opened in Market Street, Kingswinford last week, the leader of the council dropped in and welcomed business owner Carol Bradley to the town’s business community.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:
We all know our towns centres and local businesses have struggled in the last year and new businesses are just what we need to help aid our recovery.
It was a pleasure to meet Carol and welcome her to the business community. This is a welcome boost to the town, and I wish Carol every success.
I’ve made it clear that continuing to support the recovery of businesses and our economy is one of our priorities in the months and years ahead.
I am confident we will thrive once more; we will continue to welcome new businesses in our communities, and we will see our economy bounce back.
Carol Bradley from the CBTanning Studio, said
This is my first solo business venture and I am really pleased to be part of the business community in Kingswinford.
I’ve been welcomed with open arms by other traders in the town and I am look forward to welcoming customers and making a success of my business.
