Let’s recycle for Christmas 2021
Dudley borough residents are advised to put their waste and recycling out on their normal collection day this year, as there will be no disruptions to service.
The waste and recycling should be placed outside for collection by 6.15am and residents are advised that Christmas collections may be earlier or later than usual.
Residents are asked to ensure that their grey bin lid is shut and to not put out additional waste sacks.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm, said:
Christmas is the perfect time to say a great big thank you to the waste operatives for all of their brilliant work over the last year. They have kept the waste service moving during difficult times throughout the pandemic, ensuring as little disruption to residents as possible.
We are asking all residents to help us with their waste collections by not overloading the bins, recycling as much as possible and by using other services, such as the household waste recycling centre wherever possible. Remember, recycling helps us in our work to save the planet.
Additional free recycling blue or green bags and black boxes are available by visiting www.dudley.gov.uk or telephoning Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345.
Additional bulky waste can be collected via the council’s chargeable bulky waste collection service.
The household waste and recycling centre, located in Stourbridge, recycle many items including Christmas trees and unwanted electrical goods. The site is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Anyone wishing to use the site should book online or call Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345 as appointments need to be booked before visiting the site.
