Libraries re-open for click and collect service
Libraries across the borough have re-opened today (Mon) to offer a click and collect service on books for residents.
The libraries were closed after the announcement of a third lockdown, with renewals on all books extended to the start of February.
But with the exception of Brierley Hill Library, which remains closed, all other libraries re-opened at 10am for residents to come in and pick up books they have selected online.
Libraries will be open from 10am to 3pm Monday to Saturday with the exception of Netherton Library, which will be open 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
Books can be ordered online at https://capitadiscovery.co.uk/dudley/home. Customers are urged to advise libraries on the day they will be arriving to collect books by emailing dudley.libraries@gll.org or by phoning the library in question. The Archives and Home Library service remains closed for the time being.
Councillor Laura Taylor, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said:
A change in the national guidance has allowed the libraries to re-open on a click and collect basis from today.
Books will be a lifeline and an escape for many stuck at home during this latest lockdown, and I am sure this move will be welcomed by residents.
