Living well, feeling safe

Living well and feeling safe event

People can find out how to live well and feel safe at an event taking place next week at the Merry Hill Centre.

Dudley Council’s living well, feeling safe partnership’s advisors will be in the lower mall near the customer service desk on Friday October 20 from 9am to 3pm.

The living well, feeling safe service works to support vulnerable or older people to stay safe, healthy, well and independent in their homes.

The event is ideal for anyone who wants to feel healthier, is feeling lonely or needs to make improvements around the home.

The team will be offering advice on home safety including pendant and personal alarms as well as adaptations.

They can also direct people to support for dementia patients, unpaid carers, weight management and also activities going on in the community that help tackle loneliness.

Councillor Matt Rogers, cabinet member for adult social care, said:

I’m proud to say that the living well, feeling safe service provides tailored support to thousands of people every year to help them stay well and live independently.

I’m pleased to see the team is back at the Merry Hill Centre. Advisors will be on hand to reach out and connect with local people and talk through all the support they can offer.
