Local business to walk Dudley Trail

Employees from The Lee, Shaw Partnership will be hitting the trail this weekend to raise money for charity

Staff from The Lee, Shaw Partnership will be dusting off their walking boots this Sunday (13) and undertaking the 13 mile ‘ruby’ route which marks 40 years of the annual walking event.

In light of new Government restrictions relating to Covid-19, and following advice from public health, the decision has been taken to cancel the Dudley Trail for 2020.

Staff at the Stourbridge based business, who were the event sponsor, have raised over £1,000 so far for Action Heart and will now be undertaking the walk independently.

Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, said:
It has been a difficult decision, but ultimately the right decision, to cancel the event this year.
Although we are obviously all very disappointed I am delighted that the event’s sponsor, The Lee, Shaw Partnership, is going to undertake the walk independently to raise much needed funds for Action Heart.
If members of the public would like to undertake the 6 or 13 mile trails on their own, the walking routes can be found www.himleyhallandpark.co.uk/dudleytrail
Peter Davenport, Principal, The Lee, Shaw Partnership, said:
We hope that we will not only raise much needed money for our chosen charity but raise awareness of the struggles now faced by many charities due to the pandemic. If anyone would like to sponsor us they can by contacting Helen at The Lee Shaw Partnership on 01384 396066.
