Long lost tape interview with Kray twin to feature at Dudley show

Broadcaster Fred Dinenage discovered a long lost tape recording in his loft of an interview with notorious gangster Ronnie Kray – and will be talking about it at a show in Dudley next week.

The TV presenter made the front pages of several national newspapers over the weekend after revealing he had stumbled across the tape while putting his Christmas decorations away.

It will now be included in his show Ronnie, Reggie and Me with Fred Dinenage, which comes to Dudley Town Hall on Friday February 7.

The tape was inside the original dictaphone Fred used to record his meetings with Ronnie at Broadmoor hospital for the insane, while compiling their official biography ‘Our Story’ as personally authorised by the twins.

Clips from the newly discovered recording, plus other rare audio and previously unseen photographs, will be revealed at the show which explores Fred’s time working with the twins.

Rupert Knowlden, manager for Dudley Borough Halls, said:

“For decades the Krays were the ultimate criminal gang lords of the London underworld.

“This show is the definitive insight into the real life of Britain’s most notorious gangsters, from their official biographer Fred Dinenage.

“He is the only man the twins trusted to tell their full story

“Learn about the gritty reality of being a gangster in the swinging 60s, with stories that will fascinate and intrigue.”

All tickets for the show cost £20, and it is recommended for 16+. To book, go to www.boroughhalls.co.uk or call the box office on (01384) 812812.
