Mary Stevens Hospice Summer Fayre

Mary Stevens Hospice to host summer fayre on Saturday

Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge will be hosting its annual summer fayre on Saturday with support from the Mayor of Dudley.

This year’s fayre will feature stalls with food, drinks and goods from many different countries as part of an Around The World theme.

Children can enjoy the Toy Barn Hoedown Party, which will include a meet and greet with the Toy Barn characters, exciting party games and a barn dance. There will also be a brand-new Nerf battle arena and mini golf at the fayre.

Live entertainment on the main stage will be provided by children’s entertainers Wally Wombat and Funtime Theatre and singer Scott Lloyd, who performed as Robbie Williams in ITV’s recent Starstruck series.

The popular dog show is also back for four-legged friends to impress in a range of categories including special talents, waggiest tails and best paw shaker.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Andrea Goddard, will be in attendance at the fayre to show support for one of her chosen charities.

Councillor Andrea Goddard, the Mayor of Dudley, said:

This year’s summer fayre is shaping up to be a brilliant event and I'm looking forward to sharing a fun day with them.

Mary Stevens Hospice is a wonderful organisation that has helped so many people in our borough - which is why I chose them as one of my charities for the year.

It's an honour to be asked once again to open the event and I'm looking forward to catch up with some of their amazing volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the service open.

The event will begin with a charity parade at 10.30am through the streets of Oldswinford with a stream of classic cars, motorcycles and favourite children’s characters like Cinderella, Barbie and Ken joining the celebrations.

Some rolling road closures will be in place until 11am as the parade makes its way through the area to the hospice grounds on Hagley Road, including:

Hagley Road (from Whitehall Road to Swinford Road)
Swinford Road (from Hagley Road to Love Lane)
Love Lane (from Swinford Road to Cobham Road)
Cobham Road (from Love Lane to Oak Leigh Road)
Oak Leigh Road (from Cobham Road to Hagley Road)

Tickets for the summer fayre can be booked on the Mary Stevens Hospice website.

Mary Stevens Hospice has been providing high quality care for people in Dudley borough and the Black Country who are living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses since 1991.
