The Mayor of Dudley gets ready to hand out goody bags for jubilee street parties

Mayor hands out goody bags for street parties.

The Mayor of Dudley is set to hand deliver party bags to the first ten streets approved to host a Jubilee street party.

More than 50 streets have registered for a street party, with Dudley Council waiving the road closure fee.

The first ten keen communities, who have already been contacted, will receive a special party bag from the Mayor of Dudley which includes, hand held flags, bunting, colour your own crown craft activity, party hats and flags.

The Mayor hosted a tea party for 120 people on Wednesday May 25 at Dudley Town Hall for people celebrating their 70th birthday between Feb 6 and June 2. She will also be lighting a beacon at Dudley Zoo and Castle on 2 June.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Sue Greenaway, said:
I’m really looking forward to visiting some of the neighbourhoods who have signed up for a street party and to provide some goodies to help with their event.
These street parties are a way of bringing communities together in a day of celebration and I wish everyone fun, joy and hopefully good weather!
