Mayor helps firm celebrate 30 years in business

A thriving manufacturing firm in Brierley Hill celebrated 30 years in business with a visit from the Mayor of Dudley.

In one of her first engagements as Mayor, Councillor Greenaway popped into A&T Enclosures in Pedmore Road.

The firm is celebrating three decades at the cutting edge of design and engineering producing bespoke cabinets for electrical systems. Its products are used in a range of industries from hospitals to car manufacturing.

The Mayor, who officially took on the role last week, got to see how the enclosures are made and celebrate with staff at their milestone achievement.

Councillor Greenaway, who was joined by consort and husband Desmond, also met some apprentices who are working at the firm as part of its commitment to providing jobs for local young people.

Councillor Sue Greenaway, Mayor of Dudley, said:

This is a fine example of a local firm that is doing great things in the borough. It was wonderful to meet the staff, especially those apprentices who have benefitted from the company’s drive to invest in local jobs. Congratulations to the company for its first 30 years in business and I wish them every success for the future.
The company employs more than 60 people at the 50,000 sq ft site looking at all aspects of the business from design, through manufacturing and finishing and delivery to businesses all over the world.

Tim King, chairman at A&T Enclosures, said:

It has been an absolute pleasure to host the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Sue Greenaway and her consort Desmond to celebrate our 30 years in business and discuss our ambitions for the future. A&T Enclosures aim to help boost the local economy and encourage more young people from the borough into STEM careers. It’s been wonderful to discuss this further with Councillor Greenaway and we look forward to welcoming the Mayor back in the future.”
The visit was the latest in the Made in Dudley Borough series where senior leaders celebrate local firms who are doing great things.
