Mayor visits Sedgley Air Cadets
The Mayor of Dudley has praised the work of the Sedgley Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets, following his visit to the group last night.
The 2132 squadron provides young people aged 12 to 20 with opportunities to build confidence as well as leadership and teamwork skills through aviation-themed training.
Led entirely by dedicated volunteers, the squadron helps youngsters to meet new people, undertake adventurous activities, and get involved with local community service.
The Mayor of Dudley was joined by Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and Armed Forces Champion for Dudley for the visit.
The Mayor of Dudley Councillor Pete Lee said:
“It was wonderful to meet the incredible volunteers and inspirational cadets at Sedgley Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets yesterday evening.
“I would like to thank everyone so much for the hospitality extended during our visit and to take the time to show us the amazing work they do.
“The volunteers give so much to help young people have the opportunity to develop skills and confidence that will last a lifetime.”
